      Sandra Messina (702) 452-0292 www.messinarts.com Sandra, an east coast born artist, may be found most of the time, during winter, working in her large Las Vegas studio. She eagerly sculpts form in clay or wax to be cast in bronze or in other three dimensional media. This gregarious, large in stature, great in spirit woman appropriately named her studio "THE RANCH" - a place for artists and the people who love them. She is often found there working in the company of other artists and friends. Sandra's works are figurative, using animal or human form as subject matter. Whether she sculpts eagles or angels, her work is filled with energy and emotion. When asked to articulate her objectives, she says, "My intention is to communicate through my artistic endeavors. To simulate emotion with my art. To express creative ideas worthy of attention." Since the late '80s, Sandra has continued to study to perfect her art. As a result of many hours working under the instruction of renowned sculptors such as Lincoln Fox, Grant Speed and Anthony Frudakis, she has honed her technical skills. These skills, when combined with her natural talents, has created a body of works, many of which have taken top honors in juried competition. Her work can be found in private and corporate collections and nationwide and abroad. Fed by the energy of the many places she travels to, her winter home in the desert, which she unabashedly loves, and by the friendships she draws to herself, she joyously sculpts powerful works of art.
